…on Rabbit Holes

“But I don’t want to go among mad people,” Alice remarked.
“Oh, you can’t help that,” said the Cat: “we’re all mad here.   I’m mad. You’re mad.”
“How do you know I’m mad?” said Alice.
“You must be,” said the Cat, “or you wouldn’t have come here.”
(Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, by Lewis Carroll)

……..and that’s the problem when you fall down the rabbit hole.

Some people can’t help that they’ve fallen in.

That’s when you call on the Big Guy and send down a safety net.

But others know better and fall in anyway.

You can’t stand too close to the edge or they will pull you in too.

You must give them room to climb out….if they will.

And that’s all I know to say about that.

  1. Ah, Alice. Now I understand – if Alice is to be understood…Love the photos, a perfect, creative illustration of your point. Especially the little guy on hands and knees looking into the hole. Is he wondering where the ball goes, what secret world lies below? And your comment, “give them room to climb out…if they will.” I understand that feeling, too. From an outside perspective, it appears so easy just to “fix it!” But, we can’t get inside someone else’s head or life, can we…maybe we should ask Alice?
